What does a Monarch caterpillar look like?

Monarch caterpillars are gorgeous creatures, indeed. They have a beautiful ABC pattern of white-black-yellow stripes. Depending upon the temperature outside, the colourations may differ. For example, if it is really cold when the caterpillars are growing, they may be more dark (the black stripes may be thicker). If it is warmer, then the white and yellow may be thicker! There are two pairs of black filaments-one pair at each 'end' of the caterpillar that can be found. These are not antennae, although they sure do look like it!
